All of the Angel Acres horses are vetted prior to being made available for adoption.
All horses shots are brought up-to-date, teeth are checked and floated if needed, a general health check is performed.
A full exam is performed on each and every horse before he or she is available to be adopted - however we do NOT x-ray horses and we do NOT hold them for vet checks, as each and every horse is sound and ready to be adopted.
Why won't we hold them for a vet check?
We will not hold solely for a vet check simply because in the time it takes to get a vet out to examine the horse, he or she may have another home opportunity arise and have it missed whilst waiting.
Why do not x-ray sound horses. We believe that if the horse is sound, has been consistently sound and displays no issues or behavior that would indicate a need for x-rays, we do not do them.
HOWEVER, if a horse becomes lame, unsound or looks to be in pain, we will do x-rays and any other tests the vet feels is needed.
